Workmanship Warranty Terms & Conditions
At 3MG Roofing & Solar, we stand behind our work with industry-leading workmanship warranties designed to protect your investment and give you lasting peace of mind. These warranties cover installation workmanship on eligible metal and tile residential roof systems installed by 3MG Roofing & Solar.
1. Metal and Tile Roofing Systems Warranty
Standard 5-Year Workmanship Warranty
- Term: 5 full years from the roof completion date
- Transferable: One free transfer within the first 2 years
2. What's Covered
If a workmanship defect occurs during the warranty term, 3MG will, at its option, repair or replace the affected portion of the roof. This includes:
- All labor required for the repair
- Reasonable disposal costs
- Replacement materials of like kind and quality (subject to availability of color/stock)
- Coverage for qualifying interior damage directly caused by the workmanship defect (up to $2,500 per occurrence; $10,000 aggregate cap)
3. What's Not Covered (Exclusions)
This warranty does not cover, and will be void if damage or failure results from:
- Named Storms (tropical or subtropical cyclones officially named by NOAA)
- Winds exceeding the warranty’s wind speed limit or damage from wind-borne debris
- Acts of God (e.g., tornadoes, hail over 1″ diameter, lightning, fire, earthquakes, falling objects)
- Improper maintenance, misuse, foot traffic, or unauthorized modifications to the roof
- Structural movement, faulty decking, inadequate ventilation, or moisture from below the roof deck
- Defective products covered by a manufacturer’s warranty
- Homeowner rejection or refusal of required work items such as replacement of flashings at roof-to-wall connections
- Vacancy or abandonment of the property before damage is reported
- Failure to follow maintenance requirements (see Section 4)
- Any unpaid balances under the original contract
- Damage covered under another valid manufacturer’s warranty
4. Owner Maintenance Requirements
To keep your warranty valid, you must:
- Keep gutters and downspouts clear for proper drainage
- Avoid unnecessary roof traffic or placing objects on the roof
- Inspect the roof from ground level after severe weather and notify 3MG of concerns within 30 days
- Allow 3MG reasonable access for inspections or repairs
- Maintain adequate homeowner’s insurance covering wind and storm damage
5. Filing a Warranty Claim
To file a claim:
- Notify us in writing within 30 days of discovering a potential workmanship defect. Include photos if possible.
- Provide proof of purchase (copy of contract and final payment receipt).
- Allow up to 30 days for 3MG to inspect. If covered, repairs will be scheduled promptly.
- For emergency leaks, 3MG will make reasonable efforts to provide temporary mitigation within 48 hours.
6. Transferability
- One free transfer within 2 years of roof completion; notice to 3MG must be provided at least 30 days prior to closing.
7. Limitations & Legal Terms
- Exclusive Remedy: This warranty is your sole remedy for workmanship defects.
- Liability Cap: 3MG’s total liability is limited to the original contract price of the roof.
- No Other Warranties: All other warranties, express or implied, are disclaimed except those required by law.
- Governing Law: Florida law governs this warranty. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in the county where the property is located.
